Johnny The Healer is a story about a boy who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and an ability to heal people. His adoptive family, also genetically powerful and wealthy, raised him to believe that his greatest gift would be to help those around him find healing. Johnny became a traveling Reiki therapist, teaching people across the country how to use Reiki in their lives. One day, he received an anonymous call from someone in a small town in the Midwest.

Years later, the story continues in the book as Johnny travels to that town and meets the man who would become his final client: an alcoholic, drug addict, and sexual abuser. Instead of seeking help from any of the facilities that he saw during his trip, he decided to do his own research and find a method of recovery that would work without the use of medication or expensive programs. In doing so, he learned that Reiki was highly effective and based on ancient Japanese techniques. He also discovered that his ability to heal came from within himself rather than from some outside source. After finding out about Reiki from an unexpected source, he decided to share his newfound knowledge with the man who became his next client: his own brother, Jody. Jody was extremely impressed with Johnny's ability to heal others and felt that it was his calling.

The second most important advice to follow for anyone who would become a Reiki healer is to avoid standard rehabilitation clinics. The reason behind this is because none of these clinics will actually try to do what Johnny The Healer did. They will not offer you any training or help you discover the secrets to using Reiki to cure people. They just want you to register and pay a large fee. After 10 days of paying this fee, you will be allowed to enter their clinic and sit down in a chair.

The third most important recommendation to follow for anyone who wants to become a Reiki healer is not to look at Reiki like a traditional rehabilitation center. Since traditional rehabilitation centers fail to teach you how to use the power of the universe to fix your physical body and psychological makeup, you will fail to cure yourself. When you are healed, you will be surprised to find that your addiction to alcohol or drugs has been cured as well.

The fourth and final suggestion is to make sure that you find your own sanctuary in which you can work on your healing. Johnny The Healer did not just go to a traditional rehab facility and receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment. He went to his own sanctuary, where he was surrounded by people who loved and supported him. You should find your own sanctuary and spend the first ten days of your recovery working in this sanctuary.

Johnny The Healer is proof that you can cure yourself from any addiction once you choose to do so using the methods that have worked for other addicts like him. Traditional rehabilitation does not have to involve medications and pharmaceuticals. You don't have to spend a thousand dollars or go for months on medications and you don't have to remain dependent on drugs and alcohol. You can be healed.
