I plan to attend the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce event at the Dow Event Center. This event will take place this Thursday, February 2^nd, at 7:30 am.  I chose this particular event because for one, there is no fee. Also I live closest to this venue. I am excited to attend this event because I have never been to anything like it. During my marketing 331 course we had guest speakers from these events come in and talk about what takes place during these breakfasts’ and how to network properly within the community. Because of this I expect it to be a fairly calm morning filled with networking among the individuals and business within our community.

Prior to attending this event I will do some research regarding what companies will be at this breakfast and make a mental note of who would be good people to spend time speaking with. Another thing I will do to get organized and ready for this event is pick out an appropriate outfit. I plan to wear dress pants and a nice shirt to meet the business- casual dress code.

I am very excited about going to this event and meeting new people. I have heard good things about these types of events and I’m excited to see what it’s really like for myself. I expect to network with all types of businesses in the community. I am excited to make connections that may be mutually beneficial in the future. At this I event I look forward to meeting the department of communication and relations. With going into this field I think it would be very useful to talk to somebody who has experienced it first-hand. My only fear going into this event is that I will be too nervous about talking to people and won’t know what exactly to say.  Over all I am very excited to have the chance to make connections and meet new people in the community.
